How it works
Your BD analyst, inside your AI app
Whimbrel works where you already ask questions: Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor or any MCP client. You talk to your AI; Whimbrel finds the companies, the people and the reasons to reach out, every fact linked to its public source.
1
Two minutes to set up
- Connect Whimbrel in your AI app and sign in with a code we email you. Steps for each app are on Connect.
- Your AI reads your firm’s website, drafts your profile, and asks a few questions the website can’t answer, above all which services actually win your work.
- If you have a list of clients, prospects and competitors, paste it in. A spreadsheet or CRM export is fine.
- It finishes by telling you, in a sentence or two, who you sell to best. Correct anything that’s off.
2
Ask: who should I reach out to this week?
Your plan for the day, ranked for your firm:
- Follow-ups that are due.
- What changed at your accounts, your clients and the companies where you know someone.
- People you know who may have moved to a new company, a warm way in.
- People worth getting back in touch with, each with a real reason.
- New companies to reach out to, with why now, how they fit you, who to contact and drafted opening lines.
Want it in your inbox instead? Turn on the morning email in Settings.
3
Ask for anything else in plain words
- “Catheter companies hiring for design transfer in the Midwest.” One list across trials, FDA filings, news and hiring.
- “Who should I talk to at Acme Medical?” People by role, with sources and contact details where public.
- “Give me an opener for Beta Ortho.” Lines built on what just happened there and your own past work.
- “What changed at my accounts?” The week at every company you’re working.
- “Here’s the MD&M exhibitor list.” Your must-see booths, and follow-ups set for the people you meet.
4
It learns. You never log anything.
- Mention what happened in passing (“Beta’s a pass for now”, “meeting booked with Sarah”) and your AI notes it in a few words. No forms, no double entry.
- Whimbrel picks up what you lean toward from the companies you look into and the ones you pass over, and your lists lean that way too.
- Customers, competitors and companies that weren’t a fit stay out of your lists; follow-ups come back on the day you set.
5
Your memory, in the open
- Everything Whimbrel remembers for you is on your Memory page: your firm, your people, your companies, what it has picked up, and your history.
- Each item says where it came from. Change it, delete it, download everything, or clear it all.
- It’s yours alone, even on a Team plan. The people you tell it you know are never shown to anyone else.
6
Where the facts come from
- Public records: FDA clearances, approvals, registrations and enforcement, ClinicalTrials.gov, NIH and NSF awards, SEC filings, company websites, press releases and job postings.
- Every fact links to its source and its date, so you can check it before you send anything.
- US medtech companies only.
Turning things off
- Morning email: the switch in Settings, or the link in any email.
- An AI app: Disconnect it in Settings. Your plan isn’t affected.
- Your memory: Clear everything at the bottom of your Memory page.
