Firm setup for your team

For companies on Firm: one Stripe subscription, one API key, one shared monthly pool of full company briefs. Analysts connect the same way as individuals and use the company key at sign-in.

If you are on Solo or Practice, or still exploring free, stay on Connect. That path does not change.

1. Buyer: subscribe Firm and keep the key

  1. Open your AI (Claude, Cursor, or another MCP client) and connect Whimbrel at https://data.whimbrelresearch.com. Client steps live on Connect.
  2. At sign-in, choose Subscribe and pick Firm, or ask for get_access and complete Firm checkout.
  3. After payment, the page shows your API key once. Copy it into your company password vault (1Password, Bitwarden, or whatever IT already uses). Treat it like any other production secret.

Firm’s monthly full company briefs are one shared pool for everyone who uses that key. Plan details and the current brief allowance live on the sign-in / pricing UI.

2. Each analyst: same URL, same key

  1. Install Whimbrel with the client steps on Connect (Claude connector, Cursor MCP, Claude Code, Codex, or VS Code).
  2. At sign-in, choose paste API key and paste the Firm key from the vault. Do not start a second checkout (Solo, Practice, or another Firm) for the same company.
  3. Prove the install with a free ask first:

You are in when Whimbrel answers with sourced events from the free feed. Then ask for a full company brief on a manufacturer when you need depth.

3. IT: allowlist

Allow outbound access and OAuth to:

https://data.whimbrelresearch.com

That is the MCP origin for Whimbrel MedTech Analyst. Analysts use an MCP client with the company key; there is nothing else to install from Whimbrel.

4. Shared pool and double billing

  • One Firm subscription → one key → one monthly brief pool the team shares.
  • Put the key in the vault; analysts paste that same key.
  • A second checkout for the same company — Solo, Practice, or another Firm — creates another subscription, key, and pool. Use the existing Firm key instead.
  • People who are not on the company Firm plan keep using Connect self-serve (Continue free, Solo, or Practice) on their own.

5. After setup

Point new analysts at this page plus Connect for client-specific install steps. Stuck on OAuth or the key: retry once, confirm the URL is exactly https://data.whimbrelresearch.com, then email nate@whimbrelresearch.com.
